My name is Claire - I own Woodland Nurture and enjoy running it along with my wonderful team.
Hi!
What will we be doing in the woods?
Great question!
We have lots of fun with anyone who wants to create, explore and play together.
All are welcome here!

Here are a few fun and safe things we might do:

Go on the ZIP WIRE

Play on the SWINGS and HAMMOCKS

Explore and hunt for
MINI BEASTS

FUN GAMES like
HIDE & SEEK

FIRE LIGHTING and
MARSHMALLOW TOASTING

NATURE CRAFT

Cooking up a storm in the
MUD KITCHEN

CLIMBING TREES

DEN BUILDING
...and almost anything else you feel like doing, really!

We don’t have many “rules' in the woods because we know you will be able to stick to our code:
Care for Yourself.
Care for Others.
Care for the
Environment.
What should we wear?
I'm glad you asked.
On a typical day, you would want to:
Wear sturdy trainers or walking boots
Wear long sleeves and trousers
Bring waterproof jackets and trousers
Bring a change of clothes and an extra pair of shoes
Depending on how cold, hot or rainy it is, you might want to add gloves, hats, thermals and scarves.
Please read through these documents with your parent or guardian:

Our photos are all scattered!
Click and drag them to see what some children get up to in our woods, or just click to see the pictures in full.

We're so glad you are having fun exploring our webpage!
However, there are a few things to keep in mind when using the internet, especially if you are looking at this on your own.

The internet helps your computer connect to lots of other computers all around the world. That’s how you’re able to visit our Woodland Nurture website right now.
Our website is safe, but sometimes you might want to watch videos, look at pictures, or get messages from other places online. Some of these can come from people you don’t know. Even though they aren’t standing in front of you, strangers on the internet can still be unsafe.

If someone you don’t know sends you a message, don’t reply. Tell a trusted grown-up straight away. It’s always okay to ask for help if something online makes you feel worried or uncomfortable. Being aware helps us stay safe on the internet.

At Woodland Nurture, keeping you safe is very important to us. We also believe everyone should be treated with kindness and respect. Part of showing respect is understanding each other’s boundaries.

What are boundaries? Boundaries are like invisible rules that tell us what feels okay and what doesn’t. For example, if you want to play tag in the woods, you might not know if your friend is happy about being touched or pushed in the game. The best thing to do is ask first.

If your friend says 'yes', that means they are giving you permission, their consent, to play that way. But if your friend says “no', then you must not touch or push them. Even if they said “yes' at the start, they can always change their mind and say “stop'. If that happens, you need to listen and stop right away, even if the game has to end.

The same goes for you, too. If someone tries to make you do something you don’t want to do, you don’t have to say “yes'. You can always talk to a trusted grown-up if you feel uncomfortable.
