Connection is the root of all growth.

Founded in 2019, Woodland Nurture is a

Forest School and Outdoor Learning Centre set in beautiful private woodland on a family farm in North Nottinghamshire.

Our Story

Claire Hughes at Woodland Nurture

From the very beginning, Laura Owen - also a Forest School

Leader - has been by Claire’s side. Since then, our team has flourished and now includes 11 dedicated staff members.

Claire founded Woodland Nurture following her Forest School Leadership training when she set out to create a place where children could explore, learn, and grow through meaningful connections with nature.

Together, we bring a rich variety of skills and experiences, united by a shared belief that life is better when we spend time in nature. Our passion lies in passing on that connection to the children in our community, nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love for the outdoors.
