Alternative Provision
In September 2023 we became approved providers of Alternative Provision for Nottinghamshire County Council. This exciting step allows us to reach more children, immersing them in our established groups whilst keeping the integrity of our unique setting.
Care for Yourself.
Care for Others.
Care for the
Environment.
We are now entering our 3rd year of being an AP and have had many success stories. Some of the children attend sessions once or twice a week whilst attending school for the rest of the week. Others attend as part of an EOTAS package (Educated Other Than At School) through the Local Authority.
Our low-demand sessions offer autonomy and opportunities for self-directed learning which can be difficult to achieve in mainstream settings. Being an outdoor setting, there are many opportunities for movement including climbing, swinging and big body movements such as digging, pushing and pulling, which are highly beneficial for supporting vestibular and proprioceptive regulation.
Our staff are trained in PACE and have a very compassionate and relational approach enabling strong connections, supported learning, and providing opportunities for co-regulation and advocation. In our care, the AP children are able to be themselves, build their confidence and self-esteem, and
learn holistically through our lens of SPICES – Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative, Emotional and Social Development.
We offer AP spaces within our existing Forest School sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10am-3pm. Within these sessions, the AP children will be on either a 1:4 or a 1:1 ratio with our staff. We also run a session for older teenagers/preteens on Wednesday afternoons 12.30-3pm
Additionally, we run a Nurture Group on a Wednesday from 10am-2pm for children to attend with a trusted adult/learning assistant.
Prices are available upon request.
Don’t hesitate to contact Claire if you would like further information or to come for a tour of our setting. Read this leaflet for more details.
